Cookie policy

Last updated: · Status: draft

No tracking, no advertising, no analytics. One theme preference in local storage, and one sign-in cookie in the app.

1. Summary

This marketing website sets no cookies. It does not use analytics, advertising, social media or other tracking technologies, and it does not load fonts, scripts or images from third-party servers. Because nothing non-essential is stored, we do not show a cookie consent banner.

The only thing the website stores on your device is your light/dark theme preference, kept in your browser’s local storage.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store. Local storage is a similar browser feature that lets a site store small amounts of data on your device; unlike cookies, it is not sent to the server with each request. Laws such as the EU ePrivacy Directive and the UK PECR apply to both and require consent unless the storage is strictly necessary for a service you have requested.

3. What this website stores

NameTypePurposeDuration
themeLocal storage (first party)Remembers whether you chose light, dark or system themeUntil you clear it or your browser data

The value is set only when you use the theme switch, never leaves your device and is not used to identify you. We treat it as strictly necessary to provide the display setting you asked for.

4. The EVstring application

When you sign in to the EVstring application, it uses one cookie:

NameTypePurposeDuration
evs_refreshFirst-party, httpOnly, SameSite=Strict, Secure in productionKeeps you signed in by holding a refresh token; cannot be read by page scriptsExpires with the session’s refresh token (7 days by default) or on sign-out

This cookie is strictly necessary for the secure sign-in you request, so it does not require consent. Public battery passport pages, reached by scanning a QR code, set no cookies.

5. Managing storage

You can delete cookies and local storage for this site at any time in your browser settings. Clearing the theme preference simply returns the site to your system theme; clearing the application cookie signs you out.

6. Changes

If we ever introduce non-essential cookies or analytics, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it before setting them. See our Privacy policy for how we handle personal data, or contact [privacy contact email].
